When you arrive at Werntz, we will have you fill out some paperwork and confirm the reason for your visit. New clients will have an information packet to fill out so please arrive 5-10 minutes before the appointment to get through this paperwork. At the beginning of the appointment our technicians will get your pet's weight and temperature and ask a few questions about your pet's visit. Following that Dr. Sherer or Dr. Burghard will go over a more complete medical history as well as perform a physical exam. Following that exam the doctor will make recommendations for diagnostics or treatments based on your pet's condition.

In some circumstances, Dr. Sherer will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
